"Your work was critical to the success of the Riverside Energy Resource Center (RERC) project. Thanks a bunch!"

– Mr. Kevin Lincoln, for POWER Engineers, Inc.

The Riverside Energy Resource Center (RERC) is a 96-megawatt (MW) power plant constructed on a 12-acre site in the City of Riverside, California. The state-of-the-art, clean burning natural gas-fired plant will operate during times of peak demand when additional energy is needed by Riverside residents.

Prior to project construction Wieland Acoustics conducted extensive noise measurements to document the existing daytime and nighttime noise levels in the vicinity of the RERC site. A computer noise model of the RERC facility was then developed and the predicted noise levels were assessed relative to the applicable noise standards of the City of Riverside, the County of Riverside, and the California Energy Commission (CEC). Wieland Acoustics provided testimony to the CEC and the noise study was subsequently approved allowing the project to move forward on schedule.

After project construction was completed Wieland Acoustics conducted noise monitoring – as required by the CEC – during operations at RERC. This noise monitoring verified that the project complied with the applicable noise standards, meeting our client’s ultimate goal.
